Shedeur Sanders was named Pepsi Zero Sugar NFL Rookie of the Week on Thursday. This was a reward for the quarterback’s impressive performance against the Tennessee Titans in Week 14. He was voted to win the award among five other rookies who had a good outing.
Sanders completed 23 of 42 passes for 364 yards and three touchdowns with an interception against the Titans. It was the first time he’s thrown for 300 or more yards in his short NFL career. He also rushed for 29 yards and a touchdown on three carries in the 31-29 home loss.
Thanks for the submission!
Shedeur Sanders’ brother, Deion Sanders Jr., had a four-word reaction to the quarterback’s achievement on social media. Quoting the post announcing the award winner, the Well Off Media CEO expressed his deep feelings about the news.

The latest outing by Shedeur Sanders has increased the hype around the rookie. After Kevin Stefanski had disclosed that the quarterback would start for the rest of the season, Emmett Golden noted on Thursday that he could be in the running for the Rookie of the Year award.
“If he wins out, I think he is the Offensive Rookie of the Year if he wins all four,” Golden said. “If Shedeur plays well and wins four games in a row, then he’ll be, what, five and two to end the year, if I’m not mistaken? Then at that point, yeah, I think he’s your offensive rookie of the year.”
Shedeur Sanders on keeping in mind what he’d learn from his father
Shedeur Sanders played a lot under his father, Deion Sanders. He was his offensive coordinator at high school, and went on to coach him at Jackson State and Colorado. The rookie is keeping in mind the lessons he learned from him as he progresses in his NFL career.
“During the game, I always hear his voice in my ear,” Sanders said. I’m like in certain situations, certain everything, like in a lot of situations. And I know his expectation for me. His expectation for me is higher than anybody else’s.
“So that’s where playing for him my whole life made it easier to come and play anywhere else because his reputation, what he has done for himself, even being a player, where he understands quarterbacks and everything. He’s definitely hard on me. Definitely tell me, ‘Get completions.’ Definitely tell me things like a recap of things that I need to do better.”
Shedeur Sanders’ next challenge will be against the high-flying Chicago Bears at Soldier Field in Chicago. It will mark a rematch of his college encounter with Caleb Williams during the 2023 season, when Colorado faced USC in a Week 5 Pac-12 game.
