Logan Cooley’s injury update brought concern from Utah Mammoth fans on Monday. The team announced that Cooley, who is leading the team in goals, is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury. He is going to miss his second straight game against the LA Kings and is expected to be out for a long period now.
Mammoth’s PR posted on X, writing,
“INJURY UPDATE @utahmammoth forward Logan Cooley will be out indefinitely (lower-body)”
Cooley has been a key player this season with 14 goals, 23 points, 59 shots, and 34 hits in 29 games. With him out, Barrett Hayton has a chance to take on a top-six role, as Utah tries to keep its offense together.
The Mammoth have had a streaky but competitive season at 14-13-3. They started strong with wins against teams like the Jets, Wild, and Avalanche. Their defense has been solid, and Cooley was a big part of their offense. His absence will challenge their depth as they try to stay in the playoff race.
Soon, fans reacted to the news after the announcement.
“Two hard hits to the same knee in a week, I’m not surprised. Hope he heals up well.” One fan said.
“Get better soon Cooley, the sport is better off when you’re playing!” Another fan wrote.
“Oh no! That’s sad to hear.” one fan wrote.
Many shared similar messages wishing him a full recovery.
“That’s sad, kid was having a crazy season. Hope he has a fast recovery,” One fan wrote.
“Tape an aspirin to it and get back out there,” a fan commented.
“Has to be from when he wrapped his leg around the goal post. I couldn’t believe he was still skating after it,” a fan reacted.
Utah has not announced a timeline, and fans will wait for more updates while Logan Cooley recovers.
