Manchester United and Chelsea have suffered a setback in their pursuit of Sunderland midfielder Noah Sadiki ahead of the winter transfer window, according to Football Insider.

The DR Congo international signed for the Black Cats last summer and has been a revelation in the centre of the park for them alongside Granit Xhaka.

This has grabbed the attention of United as well as Chelsea, but the Black Cats are quite clear that he won’t be sold for any price in the winter period.

The Wearside outfit landed his services for around £15 million and it could three to four times more to convince the Black Cats into a potential sale.

Still, a potential transfer will only be negotiated at the end of the campaign as the Black Cats aim to finish as high as possible in the Premier League.

Sunderland have been exceptional since their top-flight return and they are eighth in the table with 26 points, two adrift of the top four.
