LeBron James‘ former teammate, Iman Shumpert, believes that Giannis Antetokounmpo is faking his injury to put pressure on the Milwaukee Bucks to trade him. Shumpert expressed his thoughts on Antetokounmpo’s trade situation on Wednesday’s episode of his “Shump Street” podcast.
The former Cavaliers player said that the Bucks superstar was sick of the small market and wants to play under the big lights.
Thanks for the submission!
“Giannis cut corners. I could do it but imma sit down. I’m bout to get traded,” Shumpert said. “He’s one of the hardest working ‘I’mma play’ blue collar men in the league. He usually do play. Now he’s trynna get traded. We all know what’s going on.”

Later, Shumpert jokingly suggested the Bucks star get himself a stylist. The former Cavs player mentioned the New York Knicks as the potential destination for the Bucks player if he were traded.
Shumpert warned Karl-Anthony Towns and told him to get ready to play for Milwaukee. The former Cavs player expressed a strong belief that the Bucks would not trade their superstar if KAT was not included in the trade package.
While Shumpert suggested that Giannis Antetokounmpo is faking his injury, the Bucks’ injury report says otherwise. According to ESPN, the Greek Freak is sidelined for at least four weeks because of a calf strain.
Antetokounmpo last played for the Bucks in their 113-109 win over the Detroit Pistons on Dec. 4. He clocked in only three minutes and scored two points.
Miami emerges as a preferred landing spot for Giannis Antetokounmpo
The more time Giannis Antetokounmpo spends on the sidelines, the more it fuels the rumors about him getting traded. On Thursday, Howard Beck from “The Ringer” revealed that Miami is a preferred landing spot for the two-time MVP if the Bucks fail to trade him to the Knicks.
Howard made the revelation on Thursday’s episode of “The Zach Lowe Show”.
“Again, in doing the Giannis story and talking to people around the league, Miami was suggested to me as a place Giannis would really love to land if it’s not New York,” he said.
If Giannis Antetokounmpo ends up in Miami, he would bolster the Heat’s chances of competing for a championship in the coming years. A core of Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro and Antetokounmpo should, in theory, be one of the best attacking trios in the league, given that the Heat doesn’t include Adebayo or Herro in a trade package for the Bucks superstar.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is averaging 28.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game on 63.9% shooting this season.
