LeBron James‘ 10-point game streak came to an end on Thursday after 1,297 games. James, with 8 points in the last second of the game, could have continued the streak, if he attempted the shot to either score, or go to overtime. But he made the right play and passed the ball to Rui Hachimura, who sealed the win with a buzzer-beater.
Rachel Nichols showered praise on the LA Lakers star for favoring win over his streak. However, Michael Jordan’s former teammate Ron Harper, quickly dismissed the greatness quotient of James’ streak.

“He could have kept that streak going in other ways, but when that last moment came, he made, as he said, the right basketball play,” Nichols in the video posted by her on X on Thursday.

“It’s milk on the floor all the stats don’t describe his career,” Harper wrote in the comments section.
This wasn’t the first time that Ron Harper has undermined LeBron James’ achievements. Previously, the former NBA player undermined the significance of James and the Lakers 2020 championship. Earlier in July, he called the 2020 championship ring as “trash.”
“The bubble ring is just that! A bubble ring… trash,” he wrote on X in reply to a fan.
Harper played his last two season with the Lakers with Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal and won titles in both seasons.

LeBron James vs. Michael Jordan debate has become the great debate in the sports world. Ron Haper has played with both Bryant and Jordan in his carrer, and won championships with them. Having played with two hyper competitive greats, Harper has refused to put them behind James.
Earlier, in September, former CBS columnist, Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, floated the idea on “Basketball Society” podcast that the GOAT debate will peak when the Lakers star retires. The arguement sparked a reaction from Ron Haper.
“MJ wouldn’t give a sh*t about this BS,” he wrote in the comments.
Later, when Robinson spoke to Haper about the debate, the former Bulls player dismissed James’ greatness against Bryant and Jordan.
“LeBron is a great player. And as far as that competitive build, I don’t know if he’s more competitive as MJ and Kobe are.”
“MJ and Kobe are going to try and go out and destroy every competition that you have and who you are,” he said.
LeBron James is still showing greatness despite nearing 41. He scored a season-high 29 points in win against the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday.
