Hollywood actor turned racer Frankie Muniz reveals his 2026 NASCAR plans

This post was originally published on this site.

Frankie Muniz confirmed on Monday, December 8, that he will return to a full-time racing schedule in the 2026 NASCAR Truck Series season, simultaneously competing in an SRO GT4 America programme. The announcement came during an appearance in New York City, as he outlined the busiest season of his career.

The update marks a continuation of the dual-path Muniz explored in the past couple of years. He will stay full-time with the No. 33 Ford F-150 of Team Reaume and will also take on 13 GT4 America events. Aerial Titans and Morgan & Morgan return as sponsors.

Muniz’s Truck season will start at Daytona International Speedway on February 13. In his X post, he explained his choice:

“I thought I was done. I really did. Hung up the helmet, said “that’s a wrap” on racing… then realized I’ve still got way too much unfinished business on track. So here’s the news I’ve been dying to share… I’m coming back FULL TIME in 2026.”

Frankie Muniz believed his time behind the wheel was finished after an underwhelming rookie season in 2025. While he produced flashes of progress, including a top-10 at his debut in Daytona and a late charge at Michigan, the overall run was inconsistent.

Muniz still hopes for a turnaround and confirmed a full Truck season with Team Reaume and a full GT4 programme with TechSport Racing in a Ford Mustang GT4. He added that he will share the GT4 entry with Tyler Stone and that both series will form part of a 38-race schedule. Muniz also mentioned an upcoming Malcolm in the Middle reboot, calling 2026 the busiest year of his life.

Muniz added to his experience earlier in the year with a one-off entry in the Le Mans Invitational, driving the No. 133 TechSport Racing Ford Mustang Dark Horse R in the DHS class. Off track, his acting commitments continue alongside the racing schedule, creating a full year that blends both careers.

Frankie Muniz’s path to the Truck Series began with an ARCA Menards campaign in 2023, where he finished fourth in points driving for Rette Jones Racing. He made part-time starts across Trucks and ARCA in 2024 before securing his first full-time seat with Reaume Brothers Racing for 2025. The season started well with a P10 at Daytona, but the momentum soon faded.

Across 31 races he ran in the No. 33, Muniz faced seven DNFs and struggled to build rhythm. His strongest result after Daytona came at Michigan, where he finished 14th after restarting near the front late in the race. With a second full-time run ahead, Muniz believes his experience will help close the gap.

Reaume Brothers Racing ran three trucks in 2025. Frankie Muniz primarily drove the No. 32 entry, running 21 of the 25 scheduled races, while 13 different drivers rotated in the No. 22 with team owner Josh Reaume handling six of those starts. The No. 2 saw nine drivers share the car, led by Stephen Mallozzi and Cody Dennison, six starts each. For 2026, the team is expected to keep a similar rotating structure for the No. 2 and No. 22, with no plans announced.
