Manchester United have snubbed an opening offer from AS Roma to sign Joshua Zirkzee during the winter transfer window, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Dutchman has started the last three league games for the Red Devils. He scored a vital goal against Crystal Palace in a 2-1 comeback win last month.
Despite this, there is immense speculation regarding his future ahead of the New Year, given Benjamin Sesko is the first-choice striker when he is injury free.
It is now reported that the Giallorossi have proposed to land Zirkzee on a short-term loan next month with an obligation to buy at the end of the season.
However, United have no desire to accept such a proposal for the Dutchman and prefer to recoup funds with a permanent transfer instead.
The likes of Everton and West Ham United are capable of meeting United’s demands for the player, but Zirkzee seems to prefer a return to Serie A.
