Man Utd eyeing deal for Sporting left-back

Manchester United are reportedly keen on landing Sporting left-back Maxi Araujo ahead of the winter transfer window.

The Mancunian giants are expected to bolster their options next year, and a new solution could be sought for the left wing-back role.

Diogo Dalot has been decent in the left wing-back position, but the same can’t be said about Patrick Dorgu, who has been inconsistent.

The Dane has been poor with his output in an attacking sense, and manager Ruben Amorim may want a new solution in the near future.

Teamtalk claim that the club are keeping tabs on Araujo and could make an approach for his services at the start of the year.

However, a deal could be difficult to pull off. Sporting are aiming to win the Portuguese top-flight for a third year running.

Hence, the Lisbon outfit prefer to keep their squad intact during the next transfer window and may not listen to offers until the season ends.
