Savers and investors across the UK are set to get help with complex financial decisions as the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) launched its ‘targeted support’ framework.

The financial watchdog set out ways that banks and other financial institutions will be able to make financial suggestions to consumers who are not making the most of their savings, investments, or pension pots.

For example, they may contact someone with an undiversified investment portfolio, or someone who has significant sums sitting in a current account not earning interest.

The other bit of business news that dominated the week was the announcement that Netflix is trying to acquire one of its biggest rivals – but investors don’t seem too pleased.
