At 57 Nord in the Scottish Highlands, owner Mumtaz Lalani takes a detailed approach to bedding. “A lot went into researching the best bed sheets to use at 57 Nord,” she says. “In fact, I tried and tested several brands at home before deciding on linens from UK-based bedding brand Tielle.”
What makes the property’s bedding strategy unique is the intentional mix of thread counts—they use 600 thread count duvet covers and pillowcases paired with 300 thread count sheets. “We select the higher thread count for the duvet covers and pillowcases because they have a very soft and silky finish,” Lalani says. “In contrast, we use the 300 thread count fitted sheets so they aren’t sliding around the bed at night.”
